CHRYSTIE MARTINEZ GOUZ

Is a freelance video editor based in Los Angeles, CA. Her documentary film editing work has earned THREE Emmy® award nominations and one Emmy® award win for THE SIXTH.

In 2022, she joined VFR Films - a Los Angeles based production company created by producer/director/editor Jeff Consiglio. She joined after serving as Co-Editor on the documentary feature ON THESE GROUNDS, which premiered at SXSW in 2021.

Working as a team, Chrystie and Jeff edited the A24/Change Content feature documentary, THE SIXTH, about the January 6th insurrection at the US Capitol, directed by Andrea Nix Fine and Sean Fine. THE SIXTH won the 2025 EMMY Award for Outstanding Politics and Government Documentary.

Chrystie and Jeff are currently editing and co-producing a feature documentary about Underground Comix with an expected 2026 release. You can find more info about their collaborative work at vfrfilms.com.

Chrystie has edited content for various companies, including: Netflix, Facebook/Meta, Paramount+, Hello Sunshine, Stagecoach Country Music Festival, Hasbro, and more. She has also had the honor of producing and directing on-camera conversations with Christopher Nolan, Morgan Freeman, Jon Turteltaub, Geena Davis, Kathy Eldon, Tom Shadyac, and others.

Chrystie has a background in directing and producing and is a story fiend in the edit room. Originally from Miami, FL, she traded coasts to dive into entertainment storytelling. Since, she has focused on creating impact driven content that brings compelling and authentic human experiences onto the screen.
